Job Description Summary:
The Aviagen Group is a multi-national poultry breeding company headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, with locations in approximately 25 countries. Aviagen companies supply broiler breeder day-old grandparent and parent stock chicks to customers located in more than 100 countries.
We are seeking a qualified Export Analyst to ensure seamless delivery and customer service by providing all necessary logistics for on-time and accurate customer delivery. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the Company's adherence to U.S. and international trade laws and regulations. This position will report to the Export Manager.
Job Description:
  • Coordinate and monitor live animal import/export logistics
  • Monitor customer orders from beginning to end
  • Monitor email communication - 75% + communication is via email
  • Primary contact for Freight Forwarders and Logistics providers
  • Coordinate and monitor logistics
  • Understand animal welfare requirements and provide directions as needed
  • Book airline to best accommodate the need for timing and routing
  • Book shipments to ensure animal care and delivery within 60 hours
  • Recoup any equipment or data necessary to resolve issues regarding livability
  • Coordinate with hatcheries and product availability staff on customers' behalf to secure stock
  • Responsible for daily export operations and resolution of any issues impacting the movement of goods across international borders
  • Process export documentations through their life cycle, including maintaining all applicable trade compliance records in compliance with regulatory and company requirements
  • Elevates complex issues to Aviagen Compliance Manager
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, or possess the legal right to work in the United States as per applicable immigration laws
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Import/Export/Logistics experience preferred
  • Experience working in a global or 24-hour operation
  • Foreign language preferred
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically on a limited basis to accompany shipments, attend seminars, and interact with our freight forwarders, compliance auditors
  • Detailed and team-oriented
  • Able to work on multiple tasks and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Ability to solve practical problems
