Overview:
Join our production team as a Nursery Technician and contribute to maintaining the health, comfort, and well-being of our animals. This role involves overseeing daily animal health checks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and keeping accurate records to support the efficient and humane operation of our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily checks to monitor animal health, comfort, and environmental conditions.
- Maintain accurate, timely records for health, feed, and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure adherence to biosecurity and safety protocols for a secure working environment.
- Assist with animal movement and barn maintenance, including pressure washing and feed/water quality control.
- Follow all animal welfare policies to ensure humane treatment of animals.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable with physically demanding work, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in barn environments that may include dust, odors, and noise.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, with some weekends and holidays as needed.
- Commitment to animal welfare and meeting industry standards.
Work Environment: Exposure to loud noises, outdoor and barn conditions, and various temperatures. Physical activities include frequent movement around the production area, use of animal handling equipment, and occasionally climbing ladders.
