Job Summary

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in St. Petersburg, FL.


As the Animal Care Technician I, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to monitor, observe, and record animal health and welfare daily, as well as complete various standard animal husbandry duties. 

Additional responsibilities include:
•    Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, and housing. 
•    Follow all procedures to maintain housing areas, including room or facility personnel entry; personnel protective equipment use, spraying in all equipment and materials into controlled areas. 
•    Receive, inspect, and put away incoming animals.
•    Operate equipment following all safety guidelines. 
•    May be involved in the breeding and weaning program, performing various duties from weaning and sexing, to ensuring appropriate production levels are met. 
•    Assist with restraint, handling and manipulation of various animal species as assigned by the on-site supervisor or facility veterinarian.  
•    Perform daily cage wash duties and sanitation. 

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician I position:


•    High school diploma or general education degree required
•    6 months of animal handling experience required


The pay for this position is $23.50 USD per hour.
