The Opportunity
MBP is seeking a highly qualified Quality Assurance Project Inspector to support a full-time, 100% onsite assignment at a vivarium and bioscience/veterinary research facility. Quality Assurance inspections and documentation will have a focus on plumbing, mechanical and electrical project elements and discipline knowledge and experience (see below). This role operates in a teaming environment, working alongside construction managers, engineers, designers, and contractors on a single, complex project. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive building architectural, structural and MEP construction inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and approved submittals
  • Provide QA/QC oversight for specialized mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems supporting bioscience labs and animal research environments
  • Prepare daily field reports including input and documentation of scheduled tests and inspections and their results, and contribute to weekly and monthly project progress and status documentation
  • Identify, track, and verify correction of deficient work
  • Review redline as-built drawings for accuracy and completeness
  • Participate in coordination meetings, final inspections, punchlists, and closeout activities
  • Communicate quality issues clearly with contractors, designers, owners, and MBP staff

Qualifications
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience on animal/veterinary research or government projects
  • Strong MEP construction background and working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical and building automation systems
  • Proven experience supporting MEP quality assurance on complex, regulated projects
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, and contract documents

Preferred:
  • CCM, CQM, OSHA-10 (or higher)
  • Field inspection experience in animal vivariums, bioscience laboratories, or veterinary research facilities
