The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers-the Kuskokwim and Yukon.

Position Summary:
Perform registration, admission and scheduling functions for all inpatient and outpatient services provided by YKHC. Collect, update, and input patient demographics, history and insurance information into appropriate computer system. Maintain or establish patient eligibility and primary provider on all patient encounters. Ensures appointment time is timely, communicates with clinics with patient appointment and registration status, assists patients with appointment questions.
Position Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Two years office experience.
  • Two years in customer service position.
  • Two years IBM or compatible computer system.
  • Held job for minimum of one year continuously.
  • Type 50 words per minute.
  • Has worked with Medicaid or commercial insurance for one year.
  • Yup'ik speaker preferred.
