Role Summary

We are seeking a senior Solution Architect to support mission-critical technology platforms across Corporate Affairs and Legal. This role serves as a hands-on architectural leader, partnering closely with business leaders, delivery teams, and enterprise architects to design secure, scalable, and enterprise-aligned solutions.

The architect will shape solution direction, develop target architectures, and guide delivery teams while maintaining flexibility to support either Corporate Affairs or Legal domains as priorities evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex business needs into clear, viable end-to-end technical solutions.
  • Design solution architectures aligned with enterprise standards, architectural guardrails, and efficiency mandates.
  • Develop Target Architectures that balance business outcomes, security, scalability, and operational sustainability.
  • Make and validate key architectural decisions related to technologies, integration patterns, platforms, and frameworks.
  • Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements for performance, resiliency, availability, maintainability, and security.
  • Identify architectural risks early and proactively manage technical debt.
  • Guide and mentor delivery teams on architectural principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Lead or participate in architecture and design reviews to ensure standards compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, enterprise architecture, and business stakeholders across Corporate Affairs and Legal.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • End-to-End Solution Design: Strong ability to design architectures, define system boundaries, and document component and data flows.
  • Application Architecture: Experience designing application architectures using appropriate patterns (monolithic, services-based, microservices).
  • Integrations & APIs: Hands-on experience designing APIs, integrations, event-driven architectures, and messaging solutions.
  • Foundational Data Knowledge: Understanding of data models, data flows, ownership, and quality considerations (not a dedicated data architect role).
  • Microsoft Azure Ecosystem: Solid experience operating in an Azure-based environment, including cloud services, environments, and resiliency considerations.
  • CI/CD & DevOps Awareness: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code concepts, and ability to guide teams through reviews and standards.
  • Security by Design: Ability to identify risks and design secure solutions from the outset.
  • Non-Functional Requirements: Strong understanding of scalability, performance, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • Technical Governance: Experience applying architectural standards and participating in governance and review boards.
  • Technical Background: Preference for architects who come from a strong software engineering or hands-on technical background.

Functional & Domain Expertise

  • Ability to quickly gain fluency in supported business domains, including Legal and Corporate Affairs.
  • Translate business capabilities, workflows, and priorities into technical solutions.
  • Understand stakeholder needs, constraints, and decision drivers.
  • Navigate existing application landscapes and dependencies.
  • Awareness of regulatory, governance, and compliance considerations.
  • Assess operational and downstream impacts of architectural decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
