Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:

The Anesthesia Technician Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible for oversight of the Anesthesia Technicians to include hiring, training and corrective action. In addition to leadership duties, will function as a technician maintaining, ordering, and stocking anesthesia supplies and equipment. Specific duties will include assisting the anesthesiologists with the placement of patient monitoring lines and difficult intubations, as well as any other invasive or noninvasive procedures as appropriate. The Tech provides first line equipment maintenance and calibrations, and is able to troubleshoot anesthesia monitoring equipment as required. Will work closely with Anesthesia, the OR Manager, and Biomedical engineering to ensure that all supplies and equipment are available, well maintained, and clean. In addition, will assist on special projects as requested.


What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Successful completion of an Anesthesia Technology or similar clinical training program
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Must possess Anesthesia Technician Certification or an Associate of Science Degree in Anesthesia Technology
  • Knowledge of medical/surgical and anesthetic terminology
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or a fast paced OR environment
  • Current BLS certification
  • Basic mathematical skills to quickly and accurately add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers and decimals manually or using a calculator
  • Availability to rotate shifts, take call and work weekends
  • Ability to speak, read and follow directions in English

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must possess prior experience in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of medical computer software systems
