Anesthesia Technician

Position Summary:

The Anesthesia Technician demonstrates technical skills to assist the anesthesia provider (anesthesiologist) with equipment, medications, and supplies utilized in the course of the anesthesia provider's practice. Responsibilities will include application of TJC, OSHA and AMMI standards with regard to cleaning, safety and equipment maintenance. The Anesthesia Technician will also help with room turnovers and terminal cleaning of all equipment in the operating room. The Anesthesia Technician performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy of Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center. The Anesthesia Technician displays positive support for the values and mission of P/SL.

Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Required

B. Education: Graduate of an Anesthesia Technician program preferred.

C. Experience: 1 year experience as an Anesthesia Technician preferred.

D. Special Qualifications: Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and components. Excellent effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Time management skills. Knowledge of Operating Room turnover and terminal cleaning. Skills to organize and maintain supplies and equipment. Knowledge of OR set up and instrumentation.

III. Degree of supervision required: Minimal
