Job description

Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company reclaiming the lost art of rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world today. By prioritizing relentless hardware iteration, we deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield. We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage. As a Flight Software Intern, you will support the design and implementation of mission systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft.

You will work with the A-GRA (OMS/UCI) framework to help develop interoperable systems and messaging architectures. Summer: Around 12 weeks (May - August) Fall: Around 16 weeks (August - December) Responsibilities: * Support the design and implementation of systems using A-GRA (OMS/UCI) for uncrewed high-speed aircraft * Assist in developing and integrating messaging systems that enable communication between mission subsystems * Work with messaging standards, protocols, and APIs to support system interoperability * Collaborate with engineering teams to test, validate, and refine mission system interfaces and integrations Minimum Requirements: * Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. * Entry level experience of C++, C, or other embedded programming languages. * Experience with working with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry PIs, arduinos, STM32s). * Strong understanding of engineering first principles * Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams * Interest in mission systems, autonomy, or aerospace systems integration * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * GPA of 3.0 or above $25 - $33 an hour The salary information provided is a general guideline only.
