Job description

We are seeking an experienced Android Infotainment Domain Architect to lead the design, architecture, and technical strategy of next-generation in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems based on the Android Automotive platform. This role requires deep expertise in Android internals, system architecture, and automotive-grade software development. The ideal candidate will collaborate across product, UX, hardware, and platform teams to define scalable, secure, and high-performance Infotainment solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Define end-to-end architecture for Android-based IVI systems, including system software, middleware, apps, HMI, and vehicle integration layers.
  • Drive platform design across components such as: Android Automotive OS (AAOS), Car Services / Car HAL, Connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, telematics), Multimedia and Audio routing
  • Ensure system performance, scalability, power efficiency, and robustness for automotive-grade requirements.
  • Provide architectural direction to cross-functional engineering teams (framework, multimedia, apps, middleware, connectivity).
  • Review technical designs, code, and system specifications for adherence to architecture guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve complex system-level issues involving performance, latency, resource management, and stability.
  • Mentor engineering teams on Android Automotive best practices and platform capabilities.
  • Define long-term architectural strategy aligned with product vision and automotive industry trends.
  • Evaluate adoption of emerging technologies such as: Android-powered digital cockpit integration, ML/AI-based in-vehicle features
  • Partner with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and internal engineering groups to define integration strategies.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Hardware Engineers, and QA to ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with chipset vendors (e.g., Qualcomm, Nvidia) for BSP and platform bring-up.
  • Represent engineering in technical discussions with customers, partners, and senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with: Cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434), Google Android Automotive requirements and certification processes
  • Establish architecture aligned with privacy, security, and data protection principles.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in Android system architecture or Android Automotive.
  • Experience collaborating with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or chipset vendors.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Android Framework & System Services
    • AOSP (Android Open Source Project)
    • Linux Kernel basics & HAL interfaces
    • IVI/multimedia/telephony/navigation stacks
    • System performance tuning and debugging

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering fields.
