Product Owner - Automation Framework

Portland, Oregon

Job Description:

  • 7 to 10 years relevant mandatory experience.
  • Automation Framework (Virtualized Android Environment, Linux/QNX, Qualcomm SOM)
  • Team: Automation Scrum Team – In-Flight Entertainment (IFE)
  • Work closely with Android platform engineers, QNX/Linux teams, Qualcomm chipset specialists, and virtualization architects.
  • Understand the automation framework architecture (hardware abstraction, virtualized interfaces, DUT orchestration, reporting pipelines).
  • Write clear, well-structured epics, features, and user stories for automation tooling, framework improvements, APIs, and test execution workflows.
  • Refine backlog items with engineering teams to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment with the automation strategy.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Master and Engineering Lead to drive predictable, sprint-based delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Product Leadership & Strategy

  • Own the vision, roadmap, and backlog for the Automation Framework for virtualized Android- and Linux-based IFE systems.
  • Prioritize automation features and capabilities based on business value, technical feasibility, team capacity, and program timelines.
  • Define KPIs for automation coverage, stability, efficiency, and adoption across multiple platform teams.

 Guide the team on automation needs for:

  • Virtualized Android environments
  • Linux and QNX subsystems
  • Qualcomm SOM-based hardware
  • IFE system integration and certification workflows

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between automation engineering and product/program stakeholders across PAC.
  • Gather requirements from system verification, platform SW teams, airline program teams, and integration labs.
  • Communicate roadmap, progress, risks, and dependencies with clarity and frequency.
