Responsibilities

The Data Center Tech is responsible for providing high-quality service in data center facility to take excellent care of our customers, build relationships, question things, work hard, work smart, and enjoy the experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Installation of telecommunications equipment and associated infrastructure per customer standards.
• Act as a customer contact. Interface with customers and local supervisors to clarify project status.
• Work well within a team and demonstrate some leadership ability.
• Plan and layout installation activities to meet dates and budgeted hours. Oversee other personnel when required.
• The work will involve the installation of power, fiber and switchboard cable, and telecommunications equipment in Data Center and other Telecom facilities. Installers should be familiar with and/or are trained with iron work/bays/equipment rack installation, blueprint/schematic reading.
• Physically placing, removing, or modifying non-working equipment
o Cable trays and/or racking
o Data Equipment cabinets and frames
o Data Servers, Switches, Routers, Repeaters, Bridges, Gateways, Multiplexers, Transceivers, Firewalls
o Fuse Panels
o Physically routing the cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data in various technical spaces
o Identify, label, and terminate cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data
o Conduct test and document performance characteristics of hardware and software
o Resolve equipment / technical issues
o Review, analyze, and interpret work orders, drawings, records, and manuals
o Perform quality validation on in-process and completed work
o Interact with all members of the organization; Installation, Engineering and Project Management
o Performs other duties as requested by Manager


Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent, technical or college degree preferred
• Two Years of experience
• Proficient in use of Microsoft programs and applications
• Proficient in use of IOS and/or Android applications
• Physically placing, removing, or modifying non-working equipment
• Ability to trouble shoot cabling issues as well as resolve problems
• Ability to trouble shoot hardware and software issues as well as resolve problems
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good customer service skills
• Good computer soft skills required
