Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a SCADA, Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Intern to work onsite at the City of Dayton (Ohio) Water Department. This intern will support Tetra Tech staff in providing SCADA support services to Dayton's Water Department. The engineer must be enrolled in an ABET/EAC Accredited 4-year degree program focused around Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Computer Science (CS) or Chemical Engineering (ChE).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Program PLC, HMI and SCADA applications.
  • Test industrial control systems and start up systems in the field.
  • Assist City of Dayton SCADA staff and treatment plant Engineering and Operations staff.
  • Assist in field investigation, start-up and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by Dayton Senior SCADA Engineer and Tetra Tech Project Manager.

EDUCATION:
  • Enrollment as a Junior or Senior in an ABET/EAC accredited bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Computer Science (CS) or Chemical Engineering (ChE).

SKILLS:
  • Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft™ Office Suite application programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.
  • Articulate and concise use of written and verbal English language communications.
  • Ability to work well in team settings.
  • Must be a self-starter capable of handling solo projects as well as working with a group, eager to learn and expand your skillset, and be detail-oriented.
