About the Role
A Series A fintech company is looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to join a product-focused team building consumer financial products. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and business leaders to craft high-quality mobile experiences, leveraging multiple datasets to drive clear objectives. This role offers meaningful impact on product direction and user happiness through pragmatic problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do
  • Design, implement, and maintain a core consumer-facing Android application
  • Assist in building and scaling platform infrastructure
  • Pragmatically solve complex technical and product problems
  • Contribute to product design decisions and overall direction
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on the Android team
What We're Looking For
Required:
  • 2+ years of experience in mobile engineering
  • Strong Kotlin expertise with Jetpack Compose and modern Android architecture (MVVM / Clean Architecture)
  • Hands-on experience building and shipping consumer-facing mobile apps (B2C experience is a must)
  • Experience with backend data formats and APIs common in mobile apps, including protobufs, REST, and gRPC
  • Experience integrating Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore/Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging)
  • Proficiency with Android testing strategies (unit and instrumentation/UI tests) and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile
  • Strong communication skills and a track record of cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and business stakeholders

Nice to Have:
  • Mentorship or technical leadership experience guiding junior mobile engineers
