Now Hiring: Drill Locator / HDD Locator for Anderson Underground

Anderson Underground is hiring experienced Drill Locators to support traveling underground utility construction crews.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who knows how to locate for HDD crews, communicate clearly with drill operators, follow prints, read the ground, and help keep the bore path safe, accurate, and productive.

  • Schedule: 10 days on / 4 days off
  • Week 1: Monday-Friday
  • Week 2: Monday-Thursday
  • Hours: generally averages 50-55 hours per week, but can vary depending on work, weather, and project needs
    • Work days are typically Monday-Friday, with some Saturdays when customers allow. Crews are currently working toward an every-other-weekend-home schedule.
  • Travel: flights in and out are paid for, and transportation is provided
  • Per diem: $175 per working day
    • Per diem is usually paid on rain days, but there may be cases where employees are sent home due to sustained weather. In those situations, per diem would not be paid and direction will come from the Supervisor.
  • Pay: $25-$35/hr based on experience

What weโ€™re looking for:

  • Experience locating for HDD / directional drilling crews
  • Ability to read prints, utility maps, bore plans, and understand underground utility conflicts
  • Strong communication with drill operators, foremen, and crew members
  • Comfortable tracking depth, pitch, roll, and bore path accuracy
  • Experience working around fiber, conduit, telecom, water, sewer, gas, or other underground utilities
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
