Experienced Caregiver | Anchorage |$20+/Hour DOE

PRN | Opportunity for Up to Full-Time Hours

Are you an experienced caregiver who enjoys variety, works confidently on your own, and is comfortable stepping into different client care situations?

BrightStar Care of Anchorage is looking for an experienced PRN Caregiver to join our Anchorage care team. We're looking for someone with strong hands-on caregiving skills who can step into a variety of client assignments, provide coverage where needed, and support new client starts as our Anchorage caseload grows.

This is a PRN position with variable scheduling and the opportunity to work up to full-time hours based on client needs and availability. It's a great fit for an experienced caregiver who values flexibility while also being interested in taking on additional hours and assignments as they become available.

What You'll Do

Depending on the client's individualized plan of care, responsibilities may include:

  • Bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other personal care
  • Assisting with transfers, positioning, walking, and mobility
  • Meal preparation and feeding assistance
  • Light housekeeping and linen changes
  • Transportation to appointments, activities, or shopping when assigned
  • Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition to the nursing team
  • Accurately documenting care provided
  • Protecting each client's safety, privacy, dignity, and independence

As an experienced member of our care team, you may also help provide coverage when regularly scheduled caregivers are unavailable, support new client starts, and help newer caregivers become comfortable with established client-specific care routines and expectations.

All care is provided according to the client's plan of care with RN oversight and support.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced caregiver who can confidently step into different home-care environments and provide dependable, high-quality care with limited direct supervision.

Required:

  • At least 2 years of professional caregiving or home-care experience
  • Strong hands-on personal-care skills
  • Experience working with clients with varying levels of mobility and personal-care needs
  • Confidence assisting with bathing, toileting, transfers, positioning, and other activities of daily living
  • Dependability and willingness to provide coverage for a variety of client assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, nurses, and other caregivers
  • Comfort helping less-experienced caregivers learn established client care routines when needed
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable, insured transportation
  • Ability to use a smartphone for scheduling, timekeeping, and care documentation
  • CPR certification and required health screenings

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on caregiving position. Team members must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and assist clients with mobility and personal care. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
