Job Description
A full-time, experienced, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is sought to join an inpatient behavioral health team in Rutland, Vermont, working in close collaboration with board-certified psychiatrists to provide comprehensive, patient-centered psychiatric care in a structured hospital setting.
Details:
  • Full-time inpatient Psychiatric APP opportunity (NP or PA)
  • Monday-Friday schedule with no call requirements
  • Typical patient load does not exceed 8 patients per day
  • Provide direct care under the supervision of board-certified psychiatrists
  • Work collaboratively with the Medical Director of Psychiatric Services
  • Inpatient responsibilities include:
    • Psychiatric evaluation and medication management
    • Individual psychotherapy sessions
    • Group and family therapy
    • Relapse prevention planning
    • Supportive and structured therapeutic interventions
  • Provide psychiatric consultative services to medical/surgical units and the Emergency Department
  • Opportunity to participate in innovative Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) program training and certification
  • Strong emphasis on teamwork, structured care, and clinical support
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active Vermont NP or PA licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • National board certification (ANCC/AANP or NCCPA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, or related specialty
  • Required clinical certifications may include ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and de-escalation training as applicable
