Your Impact & Responsibilities
In this role, you will be a crucial change agent, ensuring our laboratories achieve maximum testing quality and regulatory compliance. Your core focus areas will include:
- Team Leadership: Interview, hire, evaluate, and mentor laboratory staff; manage section payroll, scheduling, and annual competencies.
- Quality & Compliance: Lead the Quality Control Program, prepare monthly QC reports, and stay ahead of accrediting agency standards.
- Operational Excellence: Collaboratively develop department goals, manage capital equipment budgets, and optimize laboratory/computer software (including instrument interfacing and report formatting).
- Collaborative Practice: Work seamlessly across all levels of the hospital's interdisciplinary team to promote a positive, patient-safe environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Clinical Technology or a related science.
- Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of relevant hospital laboratory experience.
- Certification: BLS certification is required; ASCP Certification is highly preferred.
- Licensure: Current NYS License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnologist, or Pathologists’ Assistant.
