Job description

Forklift Operator

The Sexton business fits within the ITW Drawform Division and is a market leader in the manufacture of high-pressure aerosol cans and after-market filter shells and is seeking a Forklift Operator that will be located at the Decatur, AL facility.

This Forklift Operator is responsible for properly loading, unloading, storing, verifying, and shipping materials in plant. The incumbent will also ensure the shipment of customer samples and finished goods, receive, and accurately store raw materials and packaging materials, and handle additional incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Verify and keep record of incoming finished goods including product description and storage placement.
  • Rotate finished goods for FIFO shipping.
  • Ensure finished goods are labeled and packaged properly for shipment.
  • Remain informed regarding the current shipping schedule and key information for carrier needs.
  • Pull, stage, verify and load finished goods onto trucks according to pick ticket and other shipping documents.
  • Store, ship, and monitor customer sample inventory.
  • Assist with shipping smaller packages using the UPS Software system.
  • Receive, store, and rotate raw material in addition to verifying raw material received matches all packing slips.
  • Communicate any discrepancies to the Materials Coordinator and Warehouse Manager.
  • Document and receive items such as packaging materials, parts, machinery, UPS packages, paint and other raw materials and verify these items are accounted for on packing slips.
  • Store old corrugated cardboard and load for recycling as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse by placing all materials in the proper areas.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift Truck certification required.
  • Must be able complete OSHA Forklift Certification Exam.
  • Able to lift approximately 20 – 40 pounds on a regular basis.
