Job description

The co-op will take part in a 3-rotation program which will leverage their capabilities and talents from learnings through school including extracurriculars to support Delta Air Lines logistics operation within Inflight, On-Board Service. The co-op will provide support through leveraging various tools from Microsoft Excel, Python, AI enables systems (and others) for performing analytics that assist in driving transformative practices. Additionally, the role will support teams through process re-engineering efforts, progressing projects that enhance inventory management, and identifying new opportunities for how the organization should operate by means of new technologies, techniques, and best practices. The co-op will have an opportunity to apply both soft and technical skills while building up their professionalism / business acumen from mentorships with several Delta professionals.

Key Responsibilities & Considerations

       Respond to data requests from teams that provide operational insight to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness

       Build data models with functional owners that fit with a business situation aimed to project cost implications, optimize inventory balances, and demonstrate efficiency gains from process improvement efforts

       Develop reports alongside leaders to highlight financial and impacts to inventory procedures from changes in operating models or operating decisions made by management teams

       Work with datasets to help stand-up data foundations to enable AI capabilities for the Materials & Logistics organization

       Help manage reports (financial, inventory, transportation, etc.) that the business requests and needs maintained

       Provide findings and recommendations associated with projects that the co-op is tasked with to give leadership insight of relevance and value

       Assist in mapping team processes and system interactions to recommend (and in some instances create) automation to create greater working efficiency

       Support testing associated with different types of system enhancements or implementations for ensuring functionality is working as expected prior to initiation
