WHAT YOU’LL DO

As our Associate Quality Manager, you’ll help lead the systems, people, and processes that keep quality at the center of how ESI operates. Working alongside our Quality & Compliance Manager and cross-functional leadership, you’ll support the effectiveness and continual improvement of our Quality Management System while helping develop a strong, proactive quality culture.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the administration and continual improvement of ESI’s Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ITAR, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead and develop assigned Quality and Service team members through clear expectations, coaching, feedback, and accountability.
  • Coordinate internal audits, CAPA activities, root cause investigations, corrective actions, document control, and Management Review activities.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Materials, and Customer Program Management to improve product quality, first-pass yield, process capability, and manufacturing performance.
  • Identify recurring defects, process variation, and emerging quality risks and help drive effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Support supplier quality activities, including qualification, performance monitoring, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate assigned customer quality investigations, complaints, corrective actions, and quality-related communication.
  • Analyze quality metrics and trends related to scrap, rework, defects, customer complaints, supplier performance, audits, and CAPA effectiveness.
  • Support customer, supplier, registrar, and regulatory audits and ensure findings and commitments are effectively resolved.
  • Champion continuous improvement through data-based decision-making, Lean principles, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, and other quality improvement methodologies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, Business, Quality Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
  • 5+ years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of supervisory, team-lead, or management experience
  • Experience supporting, maintaining, and improving a Quality Management System
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards, auditing, CAPA, root cause analysis, document control, supplier and customer quality, and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications, technical documentation, procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Even better if you bring:

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485
  • Experience with ITAR or other regulated manufacturing requirements
  • Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), medical device, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting customer, supplier, internal, or registrar audits
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Statistical Process Control experience
  • ASQ or other relevant quality certification

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works across both professional office and electronics manufacturing environments and requires regular interaction with associates, leaders, customers, suppliers, and auditors.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and frequently walk throughout office and manufacturing areas
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent computer and standard office equipment use
  • Ability to safely access production, inspection, warehouse, and office areas
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, production materials, moderate noise, and electronics manufacturing processes
  • Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas
  • Occasional schedule flexibility and limited travel to support audits, customers, suppliers, training, and business needs

ITAR COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENT

This position requires access to areas, technical data, and/or information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In accordance with applicable federal requirements, candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR, including a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by applicable law.
