Job description

A newly formed data engineering team is expanding, and weโ€™re looking for a highly capable Data Engineer to help build the shared data environment supporting multiple manufacturing facilities. This role focuses on designing structured data models, developing SQL-driven data warehouses, and creating reliable pipelines that feed analytics and operational applications across several sites.
Youโ€™ll work closely with a data architect and other technical partners to consolidate data from multiple divisions into a unified environment. This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who thrives in complex data ecosystems, values accuracy, and enjoys building foundational systems from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced SQL solutions including complex queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
  • Design and maintain structured data models and warehouse environments used across multiple facilities.
  • Build, refine, and troubleshoot ETL/ELT pipelines supporting large-scale data ingestion.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across interconnected systems.
  • Monitor and optimize data workflows and query performance.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and operational teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Document data flows, schemas, and definitions for long-term maintainability.
  • Follow data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Manage assigned work independently and deliver on commitments.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in ongoing learning to stay current with evolving data technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 5โ€“7 years of professional SQL experience (this is a SQL-heavy environment).
  • 5โ€“7 years of experience in data analytics or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Qlik and/or Power BI (Qlik is used more heavily across the group).
  • Proven background in data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar roles.
  • Strong SQL proficiency, including advanced queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Experience with relational databases and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience supporting BI, reporting, or analytics environments.
  • Familiarity with data quality monitoring practices.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, or data lakes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of data solutions and deliverables.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field, equivalent experience, or industry certifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.

What We Offer

  • Small team where you can make a big impact.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
