How you will excel as part of our team:
The Analytical Chemist will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses on various substances to support accurate data, development, and quality control activities under the direction of the Lab Manager. The key responsibilities include:
  • Perform chemical analyses using wet chemistry methods (including EPA 1664, Standard Methods, and other validated procedures) while operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation such as gravimetric equipment, pH probes, continuous flow analyzers, automated BOD analyzers, titration systems, and other analytical equipment.
  • Executing established laboratory procedures to provide accurate and prompt data to clients. Review and approval of QC data within established parameters of precision and accuracy.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate documentation of pertinent activities in compliance with the Quality System.
  • Preparation of stock standards and reagents as needed for analytical procedures, performing necessary dilutions of samples and solutions, weighing stock compounds, preparing standard and fortification solutions, and calibrating preparation of primary analytical methods.
  • Comfortable with routine maintenance and familiar with preventative maintenance schedules, under the supervision of department coordinators and manager.
  • Assists or oversees routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
  • Notifying manager and taking appropriate actions for non-conformances. Participate in corrective action process.
  • Effecting the safe and efficient use of laboratory equipment and chemicals.

To soar as the Analytical Chemist
Our ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship; possess a combination of strong science, organization, and computer skills; attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Other qualifications include:
  • BA/BS in Chemistry or related field (or equivalent lab experience); must be 21 years or older due to regulatory requirements.
  • Applicable experience in laboratory analysis, including knowledge of analytical chemistry instrumentation, lab terminology, techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, with the ability to learn new techniques and follow instructions.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, with a positive attitude; familiarity with LIMS, Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus.
