Job description

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Commercial Pricing Analyst plays a crucial role in the organization to develop, implement, and analyze our pricing strategies to maximize profitability and market share. This role will work with cross-functional teams to develop pricing models and strategies that align with the company's financial goals and market positioning. This may include setting prices for new products, adjusting prices for existing products, and determining discount and promotion strategies.
A successful candidate for this position is expected to develop a broad knowledge of Waystar's business, industry, and operations to support analysis and decision making at all levels of the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Drive business value and performance through pricing improvements and analytics
  • Execute on the price increase plan to ensure notifications and implementations occur accurately and on schedule
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and testing pricing process improvements
  • Using statistical techniques, create reports showing effectiveness of pricing activities
  • With support of the Director of Pricing, complete special projects to support the overall pricing strategy
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate pricing strategies, analysis findings, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Balance competitive pricing with profitability, ensuring that pricing strategies are both effective and sustainable in the long term
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement by analyzing internal and external trends, results, and other sources

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, statistics, quantitative marketing, data science, or another quantitative field
  • 3+ years of experience working in pricing, FP&A, or other finance-related fields, and have advanced analytical skills and ability to distill complex analyses for management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel for data manipulation, complex modeling, and statistical analysis
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies
  • Understanding of statistics and statistical modeling, with a desire to develop statistics skill set
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to collect input and drive optimal pricing solutions
  • Passion for learning and self-development with a desire to learn all Waystar products
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and execute many concurrent tasks
  • Capable of managing multiple work streams and projects simultaneously, on time, and on budget
