Job Description Business Process Analyst for Warehouse Management System (WMS) - Decatur, ILThis is an exempt level position.Position Summary:The Business Process Analyst - Warehouse Management System (WMS) serves as the primary liaison between warehouse operations, supply chain, and Information Technology to ensure the organization's Warehouse Management System effectively supports business objectives. This role partners with stakeholders to analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, identify opportunities for process improvement, and deliver technology solutions that optimize inventory management, production, receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and warehouse execution.The Business Process Analyst is responsible for translating business needs into functional requirements, supporting system implementations and enhancements, coordinating testing and user acceptance activities, and ensuring solutions align with operational goals, best practices, and enterprise architecture. This position works closely with warehouse leadership, ERP teams, developers, and support teams to drive continuous improvement, increase operational efficiency, and improve system reliability.Job Responsibilities:Partner with warehouse operations and business stakeholders to understand current processes and future business needsGather, analyze, document, and validate functional and technical requirementsConfigure or support configuration of WMS functionality in collaboration with technical teams and vendorsAnalyze business processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivityLead or support WMS implementations, upgrades, integrations, and enhancement projectsDevelop process flows, business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user storiesCoordinate system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and defect resolutionSupport integration between WMS and IBM mainframe system, and automationMonitor production issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actionsDevelop training materials and support end-user training and change management along with providing training to users with limited IT knowledge.Ensure solutions align with business objectives, IT standards, security requirements, and data governance policiesTravel is required for up to 2 weeks duration implementations and includes work in production packaging and warehouse environment (can be cold, hot, dusty)Required Skills:Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, and distribution processes.Excellent analytical, communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.Familiarity with SQL, IBM mainframe system, reporting tools, APIs, and system integrations is preferred.Education Requirements:A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business or related field is preferred.Preferred Experience:Business Analyst supporting Warehouse Management Systems.Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies.WMS platforms such as Manhattan, SAP EWM, SAP WM, Oracle WMS, or similar.Excited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
