Job description

FUNCTION
The function of the Data amp; Forecast Analyst is to own and execute a rolling 12 – 18-month operational forecast, using data / analytics coupled with qualitative inputs from applicable stakeholder groups. Facilitate consensus and/or composite forecast reviews / processes, report results, and measure accuracy at multiple horizon periods and granularity levels. Identify and track industry level economic indicators and pursue market share insights (trend / directional). Serve as an analytics center-of-excellence supporting other Order Fulfillment related efforts / projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Develop data-based / statistical demand forecast for R12 – 18-month window for all demand streams (OEM, Inter-factory, Aftermarket) and defined sub-assemblies.
  • Facilitate cross-functional demand planning reviews and execute forecast alignment processes / mechanisms.
  • Develop and maintain forecast accuracy measures and related standard reports.
  • Present forecast insights and accuracy measures in monthly schedule reviews and quarterly Executive Sales amp; Operations Planning reviews.
  • Monitor industry level economic indicators / trends (AG, Construction, Truck, etc.) and pursue insights into market share via analysis of available data components.
  • Provide analytics related expertise and training as needed to broader Order Fulfillment organization as needed.

Reports To: Order Fulfillment, Production Planning amp; Control Manager

Coordinates or works with: Operations, Sales, Finance, Supply Management

The mental and physical requirements for successful performance of this job are:
  • Ability to communicate professionally (verbal and written) with multiple cross-functional contacts at various levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of forecasting systems and statistical techniques / measures.
  • Ability to query, manipulate and analyze data in desktop applications (primarily excel).
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and relevant data fields (current and archived).
  • Ability to develop and present professional, intuitive and straightforward reporting tools, charts, etc.
Education and/or Experience
  • Successful completion of a bachelor’s (4 yr) degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Mathematics or related field AND 3 years’ professional experience in forecasting, data science, statistical analysis, or related role.
