Job description

We are seeking candidates for an onsite Financial Analyst for a financial sector client in the Jackson metro area. This key team member will have an active role in financial reporting and analysis, month-end closing, ad hoc reporting, budgeting, forecasting and projections. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial and operational analysis to support decision-making.
  • Compile monthly statistical and financial reports.
  • Manage the month-end close process.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual financial results monthly.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
  • Extract and organize data to support reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of bank reconciliations.
  • Develop models, analytics, and assumptions for the loan portfolio.
  • Prepare and support the annual budgeting process.
  • Improve processes for combining data across systems to support management reporting.
  • Communicate analysis results and key findings to leadership.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to enhance use of operational metrics within the accounting system.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA designation is a plus.
  • 1+ years of progressive experience in corporate or public accounting roles with a focus on financial reporting and technical accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • General knowledge of and experience with data extraction tools.
  • Exceptional math and problem-solving skills.

Compensation:

  • $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience.
