Job description

The Commercial Installation Technician repairs and installs electrical protective burglar and fire alarm systems, closed-circuit television systems, access control systems, etc. Commercial Installation Technician team members are required to take the appropriate steps to guard and provide protection and safety on the client and employer’s premises. The Commercial Installation Technician installs alarms, video, and access control systems.

Commercial Installer Objectives: 
 
  • Service, install, inspect, program, and repair advanced fire alarm system panels, annunciators, control modules, monitor modules, signaling devices, initiating devices, communicators, etc.
  • Work with large commercial and chain accounts to resolve problems with burglar, fire, CCTV, and card access equipment 
  • Proficiency with Notifier, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, and Honeywell fire alarm controls and devices
  • Service, install and repair CCTV equipment to include DVR’s, analog cameras, and IP cameras
Experience/Skills/Education Required:
 
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the alarm industry or relatable repair and wiring of low voltage systems
  • Vocational or trade school courses in electrical, electronics, or communication systems preferred
  • Formal education in computer hardware, operating systems, and network and IP functions helpfully preferred
  • Climbing ladders at heights of 25 feet
  • Occasionally working in high or low-temperature areas
