Job description

The Anaerobic Digester Operator plays a central role in the day-to-day operation of our anaerobic digestion (AD) systems. This AD operator position will be responsible for operating the straw pretreatment system and other front end feeding systems. Managing feedstock deliveries, monitoring equipment, maintaining optimal process conditions, and ensuring environmental and safety compliance. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and eager to contribute to a growing renewable energy facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in keeping safety a #1 priority
  • Receive and offload feedstock deliveries/ Communicate with feedstock suppliers.
  • Operate and monitor front end straw pre-treatment system and digester feeding system.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, including grinders, conveyors, valves, motors, blowers, and piping systems.
  • Record operational data, identify performance trends, and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Inspect and manage incoming feedstocks to ensure quality and compatibility with the AD process.
  • Support Maintenance team
  • Support front-to-back-end AD operations.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and facility permits.
  • Collaborate closely with Operators, maintenance management & engineering teams to optimize plant efficiency.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, emergency response procedures, and occasional weekend/holiday work as needed.
