Job Title:Ride MechanicJob Classification:Hourly Non-ExemptDepartment:Technical MaintenanceReports To:Director of Operations and FacilitiesStatus: Full-Time; On-Site
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of a Ride Mechanic is to use their skills to ensure the safe operation, maintenance, and inspection of amusement rides, attractions and equipment. This is a year-round position, reporting to the Director of Operations and Facilities.
Hours of operation for the summer are currently Sunday through Thursday 12pm to 8pm and Friday through Saturday 12pm to 9pm. Shifts for this position may start before operational hours or end after operational hours with evening and weekend hours required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure that specifications set by ride manufacturers and the State of Pennsylvania are complied with and documented
  • Inspect rides and attractions, notifying appropriate management of any and all hazards that may endanger our guests or employees
  • Keep all daily repair logs and ride journals current and accurate of maintenance performed
  • Ensure that all rides are clean and visually in compliance with manufacturers specifications, and the expectations of our guests and management team
  • Troubleshoot rides and attractions clearly, calmly, and safely in the presence of guests, co-workers, and park management
  • Work in conjunction with others to solve ride related problems
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, replace parts and components

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, mechanical, and construction skills
  • Valid driver's license

  • Candidate should have the ability to build strong relationships with guests, provide a high level of guest service, and be an effective member of a team
  • The candidate must possess the ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, taste, smell, and may frequently lift and/or move 100 pounds
  • Specific vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Normal to average corrective hearing
  • High integrity and maintains the highest level of confidentiality
  • Mechanical aptitude and supply self with basic hand tools to perform required duties
  • Ability to work at heights above 100 feet
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning new subjects, systems, and technologies
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to take lead on new initiatives and special projects
  • Strong customer service skills, both internal and external
  • Experience in working cross functionally with all levels of management
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to interact with industry professionals, management and team members with great poise and professionalism
