Job description

Overview
Amtrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has a need for a Workers' Compensation Claims Team Manager. The Claims Team Manager leads a 5-7 member team of Claims Examiners. The Manager trains, manages and engages the team to ensure adherence to Amtrust Best Practices and alignment with jurisdictional compliance requirements. The Manager is responsible for individually and collectively building and maintaining professional customer and broker relationships, identifying and meeting customer needs and providing excellent customer service.
This position can offer relocation assistance to Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities
  • Leads, evaluates, trains and develops examiners.
  • Ensure examiners work effectively as a team.
  • Ensure all AmTrust policies, procedures and controls are followed.
  • Validate examiners are effectively utilizing claims management systems, tools and approved vendor business partners.
  • Facilitate teams' effective engagement with attorneys, the claims experience team, and nurse case management to drive claim resolution.
  • Use claim oversight activity to ensure pro-active, cost-effective and creative cost management.
  • Develop examiner skills to independently manage settlements, attorney relationships, accurate reserving and communication with business partners.
  • Effectively identify and communicate with Claim Senior Leadership on matters of importance or escalation.
  • Completes timely reviews, audits and ad hoc evaluations of work product.
  • Evaluates the performance of the claims examiners at regular intervals to ensure the consistent implementation of company standards and internal quality controls
  • Maintains current knowledge of related laws and regulations and communicates to staff.
  • Performs other projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of progressive management experience preferred.
  • Experience within Workers' Compensation insurance industry.
  • Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in building successful customer and service team alignment.
  • Thorough knowledge of related government laws and regulations.
