EVO/AMP Support Tech
Job Description
Department: Asset Integrity
Job Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: SalaryNon-Exempt
Reports To: Electrical Asset Integrity Mgr.
Location: Midland, TX
Amount of Travel Required: 65-70%
Work Schedule:
  • Rotational: 2 weeks on 2 weeks off
  • Thursday to Wednesday shift (additional travel before and after)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Asset Integrity Electrical Tech coordinates and communicates issues and concerns with new build projects and/or repairs with all EVO team members and AMP team members involved with any endeavor particular to the Fleet, Facility or location as dictated by supporting all equipment and field operations dedicated to the local regional facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.")
  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control of all new build projects and refurbished projects performed at any EVO/AMP facility.
  • Reviews planned work, maintenance, and repairs with the oversight of maintaining all applicable codes both safety (OSHA, MSHA, NIOSH, DOT) as well as applicable Electrical Codes, (NEC, CSA, IEEE Standards, NETA) with all rebuilds and new equipment builds.
  • Maintains positive relationship with all vendors and electrical integrators partnering with EVO/AMP to build and refurbish equipment.
  • Ensures vendors and electrical integrators remain on EVO/AMP timeline with equipment/product delivery.
  • Maintains a standard of General and Electrical Safety with each project managed and implement and promote a high standard of Safety within our organization.
  • Reviews equipment designs and work towards identifying and implementing any necessary changes for increased performance and less downtime in relation to EVO and AMP.
  • Creates plan of action and costing for implementing design upgrades.
  • Reviews planned electrical designs and changes with relation to new build project and/or refurbish projects for acceptance of new design changes.
  • Responsible for communication with field EVO/AMP leadership and asset integrity leadership on project updates and scheduling.
  • Schedules repairs of equipment and coordinates repairs when emergency break downs occur.
  • Test Stand/Field support where needed and support EVO/AMP Operations/Asset Integrity Team with complications/ENPT in the field and/or EVO/AMP location projects.
  • Provide updates on daily meetings with status updates, improvements, and projected deadlines on all projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required. Employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
  • Daily overtime required and in person, predictable attendance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL
  • High School Diploma or GED. Technical College Training preferred.
  • Employee must have minimum 3 years field experience in electrical, VFD, Medium Voltage and/or networking communication.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend fundamental English.
  • Ability to operate testing equipment (Megger, Multimeter/Process Meter, Amp probe, High Pot, Test Unit, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Ability to attend, participate, and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including but not limited to H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
  • Attends and successfully completes annual safety and recertification training.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 12-hour shifts for 14 consecutive days.
  • Ability to successfully work within a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change and receptive to new instructions.
  • Ability to abide by all safety and procedural policies produced by EVO.
  • Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.
  • Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
  • Ability to take care of the customers' needs while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Possess intermediate interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possess intermediate mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Possess basic proficiency in Microsoft platforms (Office, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Fully knowledgeable, compliant and takes initiative to promote and work with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company mandated systems. For new hires, ability to quickly learn company platforms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Daily required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. When required to go to a wellsite, employees will rideshare with multiple employees. Work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, arc flash suits, safety hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, high voltage gloves, and impact gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. They are regularly required to lift heavy objects; therefore, they must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and 50 100 lbs. with a team lift.
Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on job demands.
