Position Overview

Hartville Hardware is seeking a reliable and responsible Personnel Driver to transport Amish team members to and from work at our Middlefield location. This position operates on asplit shift- early morning runs to bring team members in at the start of their day, and end-of-shift runs to safely return them home. This position requires a professional, safety-conscious individual who can provide timely, efficient, and courteous transportation, following all road safety regulations and company policies.

This is a people-first role. The team members you transport are valued colleagues, and your reliability and care directly support their ability to show up and do their best work each day.

What You Will Do
Transportation
  • Safely transport Amish team members to and from their homes and the store according to a set schedule
  • Maintain punctuality and ensure team members arrive on time and are safely returned home after their shift
  • Communicate with team members and the operations team regarding pick-up and drop-off times and any potential delays
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
  • Inspect the vehicle daily before each shift - fluid levels, tire pressure, cleanliness, and overall condition
  • Keep the vehicle clean and organized, inside and out
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and ensure safe operation of the vehicle at all times
  • Report any maintenance needs or vehicle issues to the Operations Manager promptly
Customer Service & Record Keeping
  • Provide friendly, respectful, and courteous service to all team members being transported
  • Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, pick-up and drop-off times, and any incidents or delays
  • Communicate any schedule changes or concerns to the Operations Manager in a timely manner
  • Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations
What We Are Looking For
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Previous experience as a driver or in a similar transportation role preferred
  • Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety and punctuality
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with team members
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow set schedules
  • Positive, respectful attitude - you treat every person you transport with dignity and care
  • Ability to lift and assist with loading and unloading light personal items if necessary
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
  • Ability to work a split shift - early morning pick-up runs and end-of-day drop-off runs, with time off in between
