About Amethyst
At Amethyst, we believe recovery is possible when people are given the right tools, support, and guidance. Our Adult and Adolescent Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Programs (SAIOP) create structured, supportive environments where clients can rebuild their lives while staying connected to family, school, and community. We are seeking a counselor who is passionate about helping individuals and families find hope and stability through high-quality, evidence-based care.
What You'll Do
  • Lead therapeutic group sessions for adults and adolescents participating in SAIOP.
  • Provide individual counseling and engage families in the treatment process when appropriate.
  • Complete initial assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to each client's needs and goals.
  • Track client progress, update treatment goals, and make referrals when additional services are needed.
  • Document all services promptly and accurately in our electronic health record.
  • Work as part of a team that includes therapists, psychiatric providers, case managers, and community partners.
  • Help clients and families understand substance use, relapse prevention, and recovery resources in the community.
  • Contribute to staff trainings, team meetings, and supervision to support professional growth and best practices.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current North Carolina CADC, LCAS-A, or Qualified Professional credential required.
  • Prior experience facilitating groups or providing treatment for substance use disorders.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with both adults and adolescents.
  • Organized, dependable, and committed to ethical, high-quality care.

Schedule
  • Full-time, with some flexibility for evening programming.
  • In-person group facilitation required at Amethyst locations.
