Job description

American Swim Academy is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Custodian/Janitorial Team Member to join our Walnut Creek team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members, families, and staff.
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness, appearance, and general upkeep of both the interior and exterior of the swim school, ensuring a positive experience for our members and guests.
Schedule
Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation & Benefits
  • $19.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Uniform shirt provided
  • Casual dress code
  • 50% discount on swim lessons for eligible family members
Essential Functions
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility, including interior and exterior areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties in accordance with company standards.
  • Safely use approved cleaning products, equipment, and supplies.
  • Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or facility issues.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors and management.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional, and courteous attitude while working in a family-oriented environment.
  • Clean and maintain the facility with minimal interruption to members and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with members, co-workers, and management.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, squat, kneel, reach, and perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of custodial and cleaning duties safely and effectively.
