Title: VP, Native American Financial Services
About the Job
The Native American Financial Services team at KeyBanc Capital Markets is seeking to hire a Vice President to join its team. The Vice President will provide day-to-day execution of Native American banking and financing mandates as well as support new business development initiatives. The focus of our team is providing banking and financial services to Native American tribal governments and their business enterprises.
Essential Job Functions
  • Revenue generation based on existing and new clients
  • Leading teams of Associates and Analysts in the provision of financing services to clients as well as the creation and preparation of presentation and pitch materials; mentoring, coaching, and assisting in the development of Associates and Analysts.
  • Managing and executing tasks encompassing comprehensive financial modeling and valuation analyses.
  • Analyzing the financial statements and operating metrics within the public sector to generate industry insights.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the trends and competitive dynamics within the sector.
  • Understanding the financial impact of decisions on the client's organization.
  • Coordinating the appropriate organizational resources to deliver product solutions and advice to clients.
  • Maintaining frequent and appropriate communications with team members and product partners throughout the firm.
  • Eventually begin to assume origination responsibilities in accordance with the strategic direction of the group, including but not limited to identifying and calling on prospects; the creation, analysis, and presentation of actionable ideas; and originating new client mandates.
  • Ongoing involvement in the identification and recruitment of potential new hire candidates for the group as well as other franchise-building activities.
  • Sources and evaluates all new credit opportunities and partners with product specialists to cross sell the bank's products
  • Pre-screens qualified loan opportunities, structuring deals to balance risk/rewards
  • Actively involved in pitching, structuring, negotiating, and closing new loan transactions
  • Oversees and ensures sound underwriting practices for presentation to credit approver

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of corporate or investment banking experience
  • B.A./B.S. degree required / MBA preferred
  • Must possess strong sales, marketing, business development and negotiation skills
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of credit and credit quality
  • Relevant client interaction and transaction experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deal teams
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a time sensitive environment with strong focus and attention to detail
  • Formal credit training or experience is preferred
  • While not required, experience working with Native American tribal governments, or experience with financing transactions for Native American tribes and their business enterprises is advantageous

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $128,000.00 - $268,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
