Safety ManagerAbilene, TX | 5-Day Project | $48-$51/HR + $150/Day Per DiemSheakley is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for a fast-paced, five-day industrial project at an active Amazon facility in Abilene, Texas.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified safety professional seeking a short-term assignment with strong hourly compensation, approximately 50 scheduled hours, and seven full days of per diem.Project DetailsStart Date: August 17, 2026Employment Type: 1099 ContractorLocation: Abilene, TexasProject Duration: 5 daysHourly Rate: $48-$51 per hourPer Diem: $150 per day, paid for 7 daysSchedule: Monday through FridayShift: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PMExpected Hours: Approximately 50 hoursProject ScopeThe Safety Manager will oversee preliminary construction and installation activities involving:Electrical conduit installationConveyor belt and conveyor system installationLockout/Tagout proceduresElectrical safety practicesContractor activity within an active operational facilityBecause the work will take place in an active Amazon location, the selected professional must be comfortable working around ongoing facility operations, multiple trades, energized systems, equipment movement, and strict site-access requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a strong and visible safety presence throughout the shiftMonitor electrical conduit and conveyor installation activitiesVerify compliance with Lockout/Tagout proceduresReview electrical safety practices and potential energy hazardsConduct jobsite inspections and immediately address unsafe conditionsReview pre-task plans, job hazard analyses, and daily safety documentationLead toolbox talks and field safety discussionsCoordinate with project leadership, contractors, and site representativesDocument observations, corrective actions, incidents, and near missesHelp ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site requirementsRequired QualificationsCandidates must meet at least one of the following qualification pathways:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field, plus at least 3 years of relevant safety experienceORCurrent CSP or CHST certification, plus at least 5 years of relevant safety experienceOROSHA 510 certification, plus at least 7 years of relevant safety experienceAdditional RequirementsCurrent First Aid and CPR certificationStrong knowledge of Lockout/Tagout proceduresFamiliarity with electrical safety practicesPrevious industrial, electrical, conveyor, manufacturing, or distribution facility experience preferredMust provide a personal laptop or tabletMust bring at least three Lockout/Tagout tagsMust be able to work the full five-day assignmentMust be available to start August 17, 2026Why This Project Stands OutEarn $48-$51 per hourReceive $1,050 in total per diemApproximately 50 hours of scheduled workSeven days of per diem for a five-day assignmentShort-term project with immediate earning potentialSpecialized electrical and conveyor safety experienceOpportunity to work inside a major operational facilityQualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately.
