Job Description:
Amazon Redshift Production Support Engineer responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, performance tuning, incident management, and operational support of enterprise-scale Redshift data warehouse environments.
The role involves ensuring platform stability, availability, security, and optimal performance while supporting business-critical analytics workloads.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Support & Operations
Provide 24x7 support for Amazon Redshift clusters.
Monitor cluster health, availability, and performance.
Handle incidents, service requests, and problem management activities.
Participate in on-call rotations and production support coverage.
Perform issue triage and root cause analysis (RCA).
Coordinate with application, ETL, cloud, and infrastructure teams during incidents.
Maintain SLA compliance for incident resolution and service requests.
2. Redshift Administration
Provision and configure Redshift clusters.
Manage cluster upgrades and maintenance activities.
Perform node replacement and cluster resizing activities.
Configure workload management (WLM) queues.
Manage snapshots and backup strategies.
Restore clusters during failures or DR testing.
Implement parameter group and cluster configuration changes.
