Do you like helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies. Do you have a knack for helping groups understand application architectures and integration approaches, and the consultative and leadership skills to launch a project on a trajectory to success.


As a Senior Solutions Architect within the AWS WWPS Partner team, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of AWS services-including AI/ML, high-performance computing (HPC), advanced analytics, digital engineering, and manufacturing systems modernization-directly with our ecosystem of defense-sector systems integrators, consulting and technology partners. You will serve as a dedicated technical resource for high-growth defense partners navigating critical cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, leading strategic engagement at the executive level with minimal oversight. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; defining implementation architectures across compute, data, machine learning, and operational tooling; responding to RFPs; developing deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform; and serving as a subject matter expert on defense industry workflows, compliance frameworks, and the unique technical challenges of mission-critical environments.


You will drive architectural decisions across multiple concurrent workstreams and ensure AWS is positioned as the strategic infrastructure partner of choice during critical scaling periods. This role requires the ability to operate independently, communicate credibly with both technical and executive stakeholders, and maintain momentum across complex, multi-domain engagements.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
This position may require up to 25% travel
Key job responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy and architecture for defense-sector partners undergoing cloud adoption, modernization, and digital transformation
- Own end-to-end solution architecture spanning AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing systems, and data platforms on AWS
- Operate as a trusted advisor at the executive level, translating business objectives into AWS-native architectures with clear modernization roadmaps
- Bring defense industry expertise to engagements - understanding mission-critical workflows, compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG), and the operational constraints unique to A&D partners
- Provide thought leadership and capture best-practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community
- Drive architectural decisions across multiple concurrent partner engagements, ensuring AWS is positioned as the strategic platform of choice
