As anSoftware Engineer II,youwill have a basic understanding of allsoftwarecomponentsfor Abott. This role willdesign, develop, test, and maintain software componentsofmoderatecomplexitywiththegeneral instructionfrom senior engineersanddrive tasks to completion.This rolewillleverage well-developed professional and technical expertiseto work collaborativelyoncross-functional agile teams to deliver high quality software.

Working in our Software Engineering teams, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and sustaining software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. You will design and create engineering specifications for building software programs based on a broad knowledge of information systems and determine what development methodology to use after documenting software requirements.

  • Communicate status updates on individual project -based assignments to the project team.
  • Provide professional advice ondecisions or actionsthat may impacttheoutcomeof a taskor workflow of the team/work group.
  • Buildproductive internalcollaborativepartnerships with peers, SMEs, and decision-makers.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering; or High School Diploma/General Education Degree and4years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu ofBachelor's Degree.
  • Experience developing software with object-oriented code.
  • RESTful web services, Relational Databases (Postgres, SQL Server), and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate, Entities Framework).
  • Designing and developing apps that access and or utilize cloud-based frameworks (e.g., Azure, Amazon AWS Services/SDKs, etc.).
  • Agile development tools; including, but not limited to, JIRA, Confluence repository.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Next Generation Sequencing data analysis tools and workflows.
  • Experience reading and writing object-oriented languages, such as Python, Java,Google Web Toolkit,.NET, or C++.

The base pay for this position is

$61,300.00 - $122,700.00
