Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support Gus Mart (Amazon Walk Out) as a Store Operations Associate on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • Greets customers and provides friendly, professional customer service
  • Helps customers navigate the Just Walk Out shopping experience by assisting customers with questions about products, prices, Dining Dollars, EagleXpress, and payment options.
  • Monitors the Just Walk Out system and reports technology or transaction issues to management
  • Ensures shelves, coolers, displays, and merchandise are properly stocked
  • Rotates products and checks dates to maintain freshness and quality
  • Maintains proper product presentation and organization
  • Receives, organizes, and puts away deliveries when assigned
  • Assists with inventory counts and report low-stock or missing items
  • Addresses customer concerns and escalates issues to management when necessary
  • Maintains a welcoming and positive store environment
  • Keeps sales floor, coolers, storage areas, and work areas clean and organized
  • Cleans food preparation areas and addresses safety hazards immediately
  • Maintains sanitation standards throughout the shift
  • Prepares and/or replenishes fresh grab-and-go food items
  • Follows all food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures
  • Checks expiration dates and removes products that are expired or damaged
  • Vacuums and performs other cleaning duties as needed

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 25 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday-Friday:
    • 6:00 AM - 11:00 AM
    • 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
    • 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary
$10.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
