Job Description

Qualifications, Skills and General Responsibilities:

· Adhere to strict safety and quality standards on and off the road

· Safely drive and perform safety inspections on Company vehicle

· Follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policies

· Interact in a positive and a professional manner with customers and public while delivering products to customers’ homes, retail, and business locations

· Keep pace in physically demanding job

· Follow up on customer requests or problems with solution-oriented approach, keeping customer informed of delivery progress

· Sort and prepare a delivery route to meet customer expectations

· Ensure delivery vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good operating condition always

· May assist in training other team members

· Where appropriate, carry out in delivery station activities including sortation and general tasks

· Provide rescue assistance to other drivers once the driver has completed his/her route for the shift

Work Environment

· Drives a delivery van with a weight rating of up to 10,000 pounds to many customer residences and businesses, climbs in and out of van, and walks up and down stairs as required to deliver packages according to established procedures in all weather conditions

· Flexibility is key; routes may vary and may be delayed due to traffic from on road congestion, construction, or other factors

· Full-time hours consisting of 32+ hours a week (8-11 hours/day). There may be adjustments including, additional hours and potential schedule changes depending on time of the year and peak seasons and other factors

Typical Daily Agenda:

  • Arrive at Van Lot by the required time to receive your van assignment as scheduled
  • Attend the morning stand up meeting to discuss areas of focus and ongoing training
  • Receive route assignment, keys, tools, and delivery smartphone / GPS device with van
  • Perform a pre-trip vehicle inspection thoroughly, checking the van for damage.
  • Head to the station to pick up packages for the day
  • Deliver packages in a quick even pace throughout the shift
  • Be on your feet up to 8 - 10 hours per day while walking up to 4 miles
  • Climb in and out of a van for each delivery
  • Follow all delivery instructions for each stop
  • Help fellow team members as needed (Rescues)
  • Return van to the station after refueling to drop off leftover packages/tote bags
  • Remove all trash & debris from the van
  • Return Smartphone/GPS scanner device, tools, and keys
  • Debrief with Team
  • Perform post-trip inspection noting any required maintenance items
Qualifications
  • Must consent to Drug Screening
  • Must be at least 21 years or older
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record. Able to pass a motor vehicle record check
  • Valid AZ driver’s license
  • Able to speak and communicate in English
  • Must be tech-savvy and able to operate a Smartphone/GPS device with a scanner and team applications
  • Must always observe all traffic rules and company safety policies
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. packages during an 8–10-hour work shift
  • Must be able to handle stressful workloads and driving demands
  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch repeatedly during an 8–10-hour work shift
