Job description

We are looking for a Senior SDM to lead the Apollo charter within the Software Foundation Management organization. Apollo is Amazon's internal deployment platform, responsible for deploying software to thousands of services across every AWS partition and fabric, including GovCloud and ADC regions. Apollo processes millions of deployments annually and is a Tier-1 platform system critical to Amazon's operational backbone. We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead multiple engineering teams building and operating next generation of Apollo's core deployment infrastructure at Amazon scale focused on managed intent based Deployments. You will own the technical vision, operational excellence, and people development for a multi-team engineering organization across multiple teams. You will drive the strategy for Apollo's control plane services, deployment automation, and platform reliability while ensuring Amazon's deployment infrastructure remains resilient, scalable, and secure across all partitions.
Key job responsibilities
You will set the long-term technical direction for Apollo's deployment platform, balancing innovation with operational rigor for a system that underpins Amazon's entire software delivery lifecycle. You will make high-judgment trade-off decisions across competing priorities: customer adoption, platform reliability, security compliance, and engineering velocity. You will represent Apollo in cross-organizational forums, influencing technical direction for deployment infrastructure across Amazon. You will build a culture of operational excellence, ensuring your teams maintain the highest bar for Tier-1 service ownership, COE quality, and incident response.
