Job description

The Solutions Design Team is searching for an innovative and solutions oriented engineer to help design our next generation Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs), Sort Centers (SCs), and Amazon Logistics (AMZL). A successful candidate will have a passion for creating high-performance physical systems, a strong technical problem solving ability, excellent project management skills, the ability to effectively communicate with and influence decision-makers at all levels and an internal motivation to deliver results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Amazon Robotics culture encourages innovation and expects engineers and managers alike to take a high level of ownership in solving complex problems.
The Solutions Design Team is not only responsible for analyzing and optimizing existing Robotic ATS performance, but combining those learnings with the latest technologies to design new state of the art robotic material handling systems


Key job responsibilities
Dive deep and be hands-on to drive innovative and incremental improvements to physical processing and material handling solutions using leading technology, robotics, and data analytics to meet product flow requirements based on Amazon design principles. Lead technical design projects in concert with your team.
Inspire strategic design decisions by identifying and analyzing key operational and financial metrics. Develop models as required to solve complex problems and advocate for your team's conclusions.
Coordinate with technology product management and systems engineering teams to develop next-gen product features that further optimize the performance of Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers, and AMZLs.
Manage relationships with key global leaders, partners, and customers to effectively influence, negotiate, and collaborate on systems design and integration all the way through building construction and startup.
Travel up to 10%.
