Job Summary:

The Senior Controls Program Engineer (SCPE) provides controls engineering expertise during the pre-award phase of complex engineering projects, focusing on standardization, modularization, and alignment with Amazon's technical and operational needs. They ensure scope, schedules, and budgets meet organizational standards and Amazon's expectations. Acting as the primary technical liaison, the SCPE facilitates communication between engineering, sales, and Amazon teams to support project execution.

During project handover, the SCPE prepares risk assessments, identifies opportunities, and shares Lessons Learned to guide execution. They create Amazon specification packages, conduct periodic audits, and provide recommendations to maintain project success. Additionally, they lead multi-discipline Project Design Reviews and collaborate with the Training team to develop and deliver Amazon specific technical training materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of complex Amazon technical standards and project requirements to inform strategic planning.
  • Promote the development of comprehensive engineering strategies, resource plans, and project timelines in alignment with multifaceted project scopes.
  • Coordinate and critically review multidisciplinary design efforts to ensure seamless integration and adherence to the highest technical standards.
  • Act as the internal senior technical interface for Amazon, establishing trust and guiding strategic conversations across the FORTNA organization
  • Assist the strategic sourcing of materials and components, optimizing resource allocation and scheduling.
  • Display superior communication skills, leading by example to drive effective collaboration and cross-disciplinary integration.

  • Ability to walk, kneel, crouch and balance frequently.

  • Ability to sit/stand frequently for long and/or intermittent periods of time.
  • Time spent between general office environment (with normal sitting, standing and minimal, nominal lifting) and active construction site visits.
  • Time spent on active job sites includes subject to noise, being in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical power and control systems, and high places.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required at active job sites.

Base Salary Range:

The base salary range for this role is $87,600 to $131,300. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel Expectations of 10% - 25% to various job site locations and offices.
