Job description

Amazon is looking for a Construction Program Manager who will be responsible for developing & executing nationwide programs of new builds, retrofits, expansions, and facilities initiatives. Construction Program Managers are required to provide alignment, standardization, and governance across multiple project managers; align with primary customer leadership on program goals, roles, and expectations; perform detailed deep dive reviews of program budgets and schedules to identify and resolve issues; and provide executive program reports to senior managers and Directors. Construction Program Managers will partner with internal and external stakeholders to earn trust and engage as a team to deliver results.

The Construction Program Manager will serve as the nationwide integrator between Design & Construction teams and other Amazon stakeholders responsible for equipping, furnishing, and operating sites within their programs. This opportunity combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management.
This role requires >60% national travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling.

Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.
Key job responsibilities
Responsible for program management over new construction, renovations, and capacity improvements of Amazon Customer Fulfillment facilities in North America.


Partner with planning teams and customer business unit leadership to align on program goals, execution strategy, roles & authorities, risk management, decision mechanisms, and reporting tools.
Support execution teams with centralized processes, reports, escalation management, and resolution of recurring problems to reduce burden on site-specific PMs.
Work independently and creatively in ambiguous programs with minimal direction from leadership.


Partner with Global Procurement to identify regional and cross-regional programmatic efficiencies where possible.
Assess project performance through Key Performance Indicators for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
Partner with customers and execution teams to identify resource requirements; procure & manage supplemental programmatic resources when needed.
Identify and resolve programmatic clashes, design misses, and schedule conflicts with other Amazon execution teams


Provide critical review of current design standards to identify value engineering and design enhancement opportunities.
Review and guide internally requested changes for validity, impact, and programmatic consistency; partner with customer business unit and Engineering Change Management to ensure timely and cost sensitive decisions on program changes.
Lead or assist in negotiations with appropriate regulatory bodies and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) entities as required.


A day in the life
Each day, you act as Amazon's owner on the ground - ensuring the safe, on-time, and on-budget execution of construction programs. Your day may include:
Coordinating with project managers on status, upcoming milestones, and emerging risks
Reviewing and responding to RFIs, submittals, and change order requests
Participating in OAC meetings and driving accountability across teams
Conducting site visits to verify quality and safety compliance
Updating project management systems with current budget, schedule, and status information
Collaborating with internal stakeholders on facility readiness, equipment coordination, and operational handover planning
Reviewing design documents and providing feedback to engineering and design partners
