Position Summary:

The Quality Manager serves as the head of HUM Nutrition’s Quality function, providing leadership and oversight of quality and safety standards across the organization. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the safety, quality, compliance, and integrity of HUM’s finished goods throughout the product lifecycle.

The Quality Manager is also responsible for overseeing quality standards and processes related to HUM’s distribution warehouse, partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders to identify and address quality issues, maintain appropriate standards, and support continuous improvement across the supply chain.

The role serves as a key resource for the organization on quality, product safety, vendor quality, and regulatory-related matters, helping ensure HUM products consistently meet established quality standards and business requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Review and Maintain CMO Finished Product Specs as well as creating internal Finished Product Specs
• Set Up and manage testing program for each SKU. Investigate testing results when needed
• Obtain and manage product SKU documentations, including product statements & raw material specs / coas
• Ensure CMO’s are in good standing with GMPs by auditing facilities, acquiring GMP certifications, and collecting CMO questionnaires
• Acquire and manage 3rd party certifications, including Non-GMO, Vegan, and Clean Label Project
• Manage Label creation and revision process. Responsible for accuracy of Supplement Facts Panel.
• Create and Review SOPs 
• Work closely and attend/hold regular meetings with other departments and vendors including: Science and Education, Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Experience, Finance and CMOs
• Create and manage UPCs across all SKUs and Kits
• Review and manage documentation of customer complaints through all channels, including CX, Amazon, Retail, and Social Media
• Handle investigation and reporting of serious adverse reactions
• Register and submit new products along with claims to FDA
• Inspect incoming finished product by comparing physical prdocut to specification and checking necessary documents including product COAs and packing list
• Send samples to 3rd party labs for necessary testing, and managing teting program
• Manage Returns program from Retail and DTC customers
• Uphold Distribution Warehouse and make sure facilities is in good order, including checking cleaning logs and temperature/ humidity logs

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Science

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Quality in a GMP environment
• 5+ years of experience in Quality in the nutritional/supplement industry
• 5+ years of managerial experience
• Solid Knowledge of ISO 17025 regulations

*This is a hybrid, Los Angeles-based position requiring the employee to work across three locations: the company’s distribution center in ZIP code 90016, the company’s headquarters in ZIP code 90028, and remotely from home.
