Job description

Position: DC Infra Eng III - AMZ14055.4
Location: Herndon, VA
Multiple Positions Available:
1. Lead new product design, development and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS datacenters including but not limited to switchgear (low or medium voltage), power distribution cabinets and panels. 2. Develop Capex and Opex spending budgets taking into account development costs with vendors, prototyping needs, testing and specialized tooling requirements. 3. Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment and components, ensuring tier 2-3 supply chain resiliency. Work with internal partner teams to solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design. 4. Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries through appropriate levels of testing. 5. Validate design through prototype, pre-production and first-of-kind builds, conducting DFx and value engineering analysis through each step and updating design and documentation. 6. Be a leader within the product development team as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center. 7. Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products. 8. Ability to provide support for manufacturing activities for the new products on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations. 9. Domestic or international travel up to 50% to perform role responsibilities may be required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering or a related field followed by 6 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience must include: 1) 4 years of experience in leading new product design, development, product certification and manufacturing support of Low Voltage (LV) distribution products for data center applications with focus on switchgear, switchboards and panelboards. 2) 4 years of experience in interpreting electric code NEC, NFPA, UL891, UL508, UL1066, UL1558, ANSI C37 3) 4 years of experience in design documentation creation including 3D models, submittals, assembly and part drawings and ingestion into Product Lifecycle Manager. 4) 4 years of experience in validating design through prototype builds, pre-production builds and first-of-kind builds, conducting DFx and value engineering analysis through each step and updating design and documentation.
The pay range for this position in Herndon, VA is $161782 - $184800 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
