Great pay, Great benefits with PTO and Holiday pay. We are seeking candidates that are in the Baton Rouge area to pick up and deliver sod from our regional farms as well as our Baton Rouge Outlet located at 13278 Airline Hwy. Baton Rouge.


Our outlet drivers pick up sod from our regional farms located in Ethel, LA, and Donaldsonville, LA.


Sod will be picked up from our farms daily and delivered to various markets in the greater Baton Rouge region.

Requirements:

As a CDL Class A Driver, you will be responsible for operating a tractor-trailer and ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety regulations. This role requires core skills in commercial driving and truck operation, with a focus on flatbed and manual transmission vehicles. You will report to the Retail Outlet Manager and play a vital part in our logistics team. Your experience with flatbed trailers and freight handling will enhance our delivery efficiency.


Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A license
  • Proven experience of truck driving, specifically with tractor-trailers
  • Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles
  • Experience with pulling flatbed trailers and lift experience.
  • Strong knowledge of load and unload procedures
  • Background in delivery driving and freight handling
  • Ability to operate forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a CDL Class A tractor-trailer, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Deliver freight using flatbed and manual transmission trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload cargo, utilizing forklifts and other equipment as necessary.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatches and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
