Job Description

- Creates, and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS).

- Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches.

- Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines.

- Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality.

- Communicates with developers and dev ops team members to provide system administration support.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Apply patches and upgrades.

- Troubleshoot server issues.

- Administer customer accounts.

- Deploy monitoring tools.

- Deploy applications and tools.

- Assist with escalated customer tickets.

- Installation and cabling of equipment

, Required Skills

- Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)

- Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository

- Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
